Over the past few weeks, training for Cycle for Sanctuary has been ramping up—more miles and tougher sessions.


I recently did a Q&A on Instagram, and you guys sent in some great questions about my training, the challenge itself, and what’s next.

Q. HOW DO YOU STRUCTURE YOUR TRAINING?

Monday: Cycling in heat for my friends masters study

Tuesday: AM Lower Strength PM: Cycle Intervals Wednesday: AM: Upper Strength PM: Z3-Z4 Running

Thursday: Swimming

Friday: Full Body Strength + Met-Con

Saturday: Brick Sessions - Cycle/Running


Q. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR RECOVERY?

A. Ask for forgiveness from my body.


Q. ANY RECOVERY STRETCHES?

A. Not as much as I should


Q. WHATS YOUR FUEL FOR LONG RIDES AND RUNS?

A.

Q. HOW DO YOU STAY MOTIVATED?

A. Mostly the fear of not being prepared come 26th March


Q. WHAT ARE YOUR MOST EXCITED ABOUT?

A. Meeting the NATYLA PERFORMANCE and Team Training community at Snowdon on the 29th March and crossing the finish line at Ben Nevis with Helena on the 5th April


Q. WHY DID YOU CHOOSE LEICESTER CITY OF SANCTUARY FOR YOUR CHARITY?

A. After asking our community for charities that are close to them Leicester city of sanctuary stood out the most for this project.

Frequently (as many do) complain to myself about the struggle of life.

With a roof over my head, a prospering business, a support network and food in the fridge, there is people who this charity helps that have none of this

The challenge helps me to put into perspective everything that I have, that I sometimes take for granted.
